How many nails are there to seal a coffin...?

Miami is losing to Houston 10-7 in the second quarter. Uncle Fester may not make it till the end of the season if they lose this one.

Sorry Mega, Coeburn Cane, Mo, Indian Dad. I felt your pain last year.

If it wasnt for Javarris James I would have already turned it off. The 5-6 probation team of 1997 was better than this team. That team had Edge, Moss, and Wayne. They couldnt stop anybody on defense but that O would have easily outscored this cane team. Their offensive line was much better too.

btw, its official, Kyle Wright sucks. Hard to believe he was the #1 rated high school player in his class, #2 was Reggie Bush. Sad thing is Freeman sucks just as bad. Next year cant get here soon enough and with a new coaching staff.

Is it wrong for me, a die-hard to the core Cane since 1981 to actually pull for us to keep losing just to see ol skeleton face gone?

Even with a new coaching staff it will still take awhile. Even though they are leading right now, IMO they look awful.

Do you think with a new offense scheme Wright would be any better? If so, how long would it take for the offense to adjust to it? Many changes are needed in Caneland.

Re: How many nails are there to seal a coffin...?

Indian Dad, it crossed my mind but I just couldnt do it. Besides, BC, GT, and VT are on the schedule, all of those look like losses.

Burton, I see a new coaching staff instilling alot of needed discipline in these guys. Coker was too loyal to so many players for so long. Guys like Romeo Davis would have never seen the field back in the day. Its so [censored] obvious that Baby J is by far and away the best player on the team yet Coker stuck with Charlie Jones and an overweight and not even close to 100% Ty Moss. Whats the point in playing Baby J now that we have two losses. I hope they dont run him into the ground like Stoops did Peterson his freshman year.

I dont think Wright will ever be good in any offensive scheme. Hes not a thinker, he doesnt read defenses well, he reacts late, he doesnt see the field well, and really lacks overall football instincts. He plays tentative and throws a really terrible deep ball. Hes basically Kyle Orton except Kyle Orton actually has some guts.

You can watch Nick Fanuzzi, our future QB play in the Army All American game. Hes only rated as a 3 star but hes had a Rex Grossman like high school career. Hasnt played much due to injury. He looks to be a good player though.

I dont forsee a new coaching staff getting things turned around quickly. Its not just scheme, its a lack of talent. Other than James, there isnt anybody on the offense at this point that would be starting at a top tier D1 program. Maybe Leggett, other than those 2 guys, nobody.

If a new coach is hired, I see a young energetic guy like Schiano doing a pretty decent job. Im not sure if hes the right guy for the job but he can recruit his arse off and between him and Pete Garcia, I think they would bring in alot of talent. I could live without the Urban Meyer gimmicky type offenses, but Id really like to see an Urban Meyer type personality. A guy thats going to find out who actually wants to play football and weed out the ones that dont. Coker's ability to accept mediocrity has led his whole team to take on that ho-hum attitude.

p.s. craziefather put in doe for the banner that flew over the orange bowl.

What banner?
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

I think they should give him a 4 year extension. That way the recruits know he'll be there

Yeah we actually have a 5 star recruit thats such an assclown that he says hes not going to come if Coker is fired. Im likw wtf, I wouldnt come unless coker IS fired. Me and Ironlung have discussed this one, could be UTs next superstar running back.
